Independence Day - Part 2

The 4th has been a blast - literally. We kicked off the day with a Capitol Hill tour taking off from my Broadway pad and exploring on foot, on this unusually hot and sunny Seattle day [locals claim that the 4th always marks the start of the Seattle summer -- keeping my fingers crossed for everyone who gets to stay in town - he he].

We swung by 'Waldo's' -- The Corpse Flower currently in bloom at the Seattle Conservatory -- very impressive to look at, but by no means as smelly as I had expected. Maybe because it is yet to unfold completely.

After that we paid our respects to Bruce & Brandon lee - apparently a quite popular destination, judging by the number of cars and pick up trucks pulling pretty much right up to their graves...

Next up was the Newport Shores neighborhood party (see top photo!) - very charming - lots of red, white & blue, happy kids and great, great home made Chili.

Full and happy, we made our way back to Seattle to watch the Wamu Fireworks that were indeed impressive - probably the largest and best I've ever seen. It sure is comforting to know that my monthly account fee is getting spent towards something useful.
